Football girlies, we had another preseason matchup! 💅🏼 The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Green Bay Packers 28–9 on August 13, and the second half was definitely where things got interesting.

Green Bay actually took a 9–7 lead in the third quarter, with kicker Trey Smack having a major moment after making three field goals—including impressive kicks from 57 and 38 yards! 🎀

But Pittsburgh completely flipped the script. Rookie QB Drew Allar had an AMAZING debut, throwing two touchdown passes and adding a rushing touchdown of his own. 💕 The Steelers' backup quarterbacks also helped keep the offense moving, and Pittsburgh pulled away in the second half.

🎀 Panthers vs. Cardinals: A Preseason Nail-Biter 🏈💕

Okay, football girlies, this game was SUCH a fun way to kick off the preseason! The Carolina Panthers took down the Arizona Cardinals 33-30 in the Hall of Fame Game on August 6th; let's just say... we got drama until the very last second. 💅🏼

The game was back-and-forth all night, with both teams putting up 17 points in the second quarter. Arizona took a 30-27 lead with less than two minutes left, but Carolina wasn't ready to give up! The Panthers put together a clutch final drive, and rookie QB Haynes King scored a 5-yard rushing touchdown on the final play to steal the win. 🎀🏈

King had a super impressive night with 180 passing yards, 2 passing touchdowns, and 39 rushing yards. Arizona's rookie QB Carson Beck also showed out, throwing for 188 yards and a touchdown.

Was it preseason? Yes. Was I still screaming at my TV? Absolutely. 💗🏈✨

🎀 Football for the Girlies: A Beginner’s Guide 🏈💕

 If you've ever watched football and thought, "Wait... what are they doing?" girl, I got you. 💅🏼 Let's make football EASY.

🏈 The Goal

Two teams are trying to score more points than the other team. The offense tries to move the ball down the field and into the end zone for a touchdown. 

💕 The Basics

Each team gets 4 tries, called downs, to move the ball at least 10 yards.

• 1st down: You have 4 chances to get 10 yards
• 2nd down: Still trying!
• 3rd down: Getting nervous! 😭
• 4th down: Usually time to punt, kick, or risk going for it.

If they get 10 yards, they get a new set of 4 downs.

🎀 How You Score

Touchdown = 6 points 💗

Get the ball into the end zone.

Extra point = 1 point

A kick after a touchdown.

Two-point conversion = 2 points

Instead of kicking, the team can try to score again from close range.

Field goal = 3 points

A kicker sends the ball through the goalposts.

Safety = 2 points

The defense tackles the offensive player in their own end zone.

👑 The Positions You Actually Need to Know

Quarterback (QB): Basically the team’s main decision-maker. They throw the ball, hand it off, and sometimes run. 

Running Back (RB): Usually runs with the ball.

Wide Receiver (WR): Runs routes and catches passes.

Tight End (TE): Can block AND catch passes.

Offensive Line: Protects the quarterback and creates space for runners.

Defensive Line: Tries to stop the run and pressure the QB.

Linebackers: Basically the defense’s multitaskers.

Cornerbacks & Safeties: Defend against passes and cover receivers.

When the offense successfully gains 10 yards, they earn another four downs.

So when the announcer screams “FIRST DOWN!” — that’s GOOD. 🎀

🏆 And Then There’s the Super Bowl

The NFL season eventually leads to the playoffs, where teams compete for a spot in the Super Bowl — aka football’s biggest night. 🏈✨
